Now posted at www.cisp.us or www.nivemnic.us
are 2 (!) new blogs:
* one summarizes the
impacts of last week's court decision on the Lacey Act - the principal law that
has been used to regulate movement of invasive vertebrates. The court ruled
that the law's language cannot support an interpretation that regulates
movement of most listed species between the 49 continental states.
* the second blog
reflects on an article published by National Wildlife Federation on imported
plants as both potentially invasive themselves and as vectors for moving
insects, pathogens, and other plant pests.
Please share with your
contacts.
Next week I will blog
about adoption by a Senate committee of a bill intended to activate invasive
species control efforts by federal agencies that manage public lands and
waters.
