To all who are interested in the listing of species as
injurious under the federal Lacey Act, and what that means for regulating
listed species, please review the documents below.
USFWS is proposing to list Crucian carp (Carassius
carassius), Eurasian minnow (Phoxinus phoxinus), Prussian carp (Carassius
gibelio), roach (Rutilus rutilus), stone moroko (Pseudorasbora parva), Nile
perch (Lates niloticus), Amur sleeper (Perccottus glenii), European perch
(Perca fluviatilis), zander (Sander lucioperca), and wels catfish (Silurus
glanis). In addition, the Service also proposes to amend its regulations to add
the freshwater crayfish species common yabby (Cherax destructor) to the list.
The proposed rule to list 11 freshwater species as
injurious wildlife under the Lacey Act is scheduled to publish on 10-30-2015.
