Extension received a report of a chokecherry fungal
infection in the Homer area, that has also been observed in the Anchorage area
in previous years.
The infection causes elongated fruits that are stoneless.
We would like to figure out where else these symptoms have been observed. In order to properly identify it we need to
locate trees to visit early next season before the infected plants are overrun with
additional fungi. Please visit our webpage <http://www.uaf.edu/ces/pests/invasivespecies/chokecherry-fungal-infect/>
to learn how to report an observation of this fungal
infection, and observations of healthy trees.
