Dear PNW IPC's EDRR Citizen Scientists and Partners,
Many of you have asked to keep you posted on ways to
honor Dr. Sarah Riechard and be a part of her celebration of life. You are all
invited to honor Sarah in Seattle Thursday,
October 13, from 2 to 5 PM. The UW
Botanic Gardens is hosting this event, and it is open to the public. The event
will include a walking tour of Washington Park Arboretum and a reception at the
Center for Urban Horticulture.
The link below will lead you to the Dean of the College
of the Environment, Lisa Graumlich's tribute and where can also find out how to
RSVP for Sarah's celebration.
There is also information about how to contribute
to two funds that have been set up in Sarah’s honor, the Professor
Sarah E. Reichard Endowed Fund for UW Botanic Gardens and the Sarah Reichard
Endowed Fellowship.
The PNW IPC's board will also be discussing way to
honor Sarah's important legacy in the coming weeks.
Thank you all for your kind words, many of you knew
Sarah and many of you are just learning about this amazing woman.
Have a great weekend and in Sarah's honor...keep an eye
out and report those problematic invasive plants!
-Julie
