“New gridded phenology products to support invasive species management,”

The draft notes from the August FICMNEW Open Meeting are available on the USGS Confluence shared space at the link below. Please review for accuracy and notify me by Monday, Sept. 19th, if edits are needed. If I do not hear from you by COB on Sept. 19, I will assume that no edits are needed. https://my.usgs.gov/confluence/display/FICMNEW/Notes+-+Open+Meetings

The presentation titled “New gridded phenology products to support invasive species management,” was by Alyssa Rosemartin of the USA National Phenology Network (NPN). A pdf of the presentation is also located on the confluence site at https://my.usgs.gov/confluence/display/FICMNEW/Presentations. Please visit the NPN web site (https://www.usanpn.org/) and explore products that are currently available. Alyssa can be contacted at alyssa@usanpn.org.

For more information on the NPN products and work with the NPS, see Alyssa's note below.

Gridded Products for Exploration & Feedback

We describe our workflow for generating the gridded products, and the products themselves in detail, in our Gridded Products Documentation file. Our Geoserver Documentation provides further technical detail and information necessary to access these products. We invite you to explore the raster products and the two documentation files and share your feedback; your input will help us to make valuable improvements.

Other notes

You can check out the point-based plant and animal phenology data we have available on our viz tool, or data download tool. The plan is to get the gridded products into the viz tool by early April.

Our regional pilots with NPS are the California Phenology Project and AT Seasons - we also developed a Phenology Monitoring Protocol with NETN (our overall approach to in situ phenology data is described in this paper and implemented in Nature's Notebook).
