The
Jacksonville District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) has been
exploring the use of Unmanned Aerial Systems/Vehicles (UAS/UAV) to support a
variety of their core missions including Emergency Operations, Construction
Monitoring, Environmental Restoration and Invasive Species Management since
2008. This presentation will cover the Corps' experiences, challenges and
lessons learned with using UAS as a remote sensing tool to collect high
resolution (2-10cm) imagery for use in wetland restoration and invasive
species management projects.
