I heard that ambrosia beetles will one damage camphor trees
and not kill them. This is because the ambrosia beetle and camphor trees are
from the same place. Here is a link to the webinar I watched http://www.conservationwebinars.net/webinars/biology-ecology-and-management-of-laurel-wilt-in-the-southeastern-u.s

Looks like infected ambrosia beetles found one of my sassafras
trees. I’ve been seeing red bays in the hood dying for a few years but
mine, so far, seem unaffected. I guess they’ll be the next to go. I
keep hoping to see symptoms on the neighbors camphor trees but no luck yet.
I wonder if anyone is seeing symptoms on camphor where the disease is
known to be. Does the host visit camphor as it does other Lauracaea?
