Explore LILA on Foot and by Canoe
Cost to Participate: $50.00

LILA is the Loxahatchee Impoundment Landscape Assessment located on the grounds of the Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge. A working 80-acre model of the Everglades ecosystem, this "living laboratory" gives experts an opportunity to research and apply restoration techniques on a small, controlled scale before taking them into the 1.7 million-acre Everglades ecosystem. The trip features a guided walking tour through the variety of research plots, followed by lunch, a walk through a Cypress Swamp and a canoe trip into the Refuge marsh.

Friday, April 22  | 10:30AM-10:00PM
Trek into the Everglades
Cost to Participate: $125.00

Join us for a day of camaraderie and an up close and personal look at Everglades National Park. The day begins with a stop at the Visitor Center for a video orientation and introductory remarks. Then we'll walk the Anhinga Trail, followed by a live Burmese python interaction and discussion. Next up? A slough slog in a Cypress Dome habitat followed by a stop at the Pa-hay-okee Overlook. From there we'll head to the Flamingo Marina for libations and dinner, and we'll cap the day off with a sunset cruise in a pontoon boat on Florida Bay.

FIELD TRIP PARTICIPATION IS LIMITED:
Because of the interactive nature of these field trips, attendance is limited and the deadline to sign up is March 18 or until the trips are full. You may sign up for one or both trips when you register online.
